Turning 30 in Milwaukee (w/Bonus Cliches!)

Upping the ante, today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel prints an age 30 story with not one—not two—but three cliche-ridden headlines! (Take that, Sunday Styles!) Of course, because the piece quotes our own JA at some length (N.B. this eternal truth: "We wrote the book because we thought that a lot of people needed to know what Mr. T was doing when he was 30"), we won't take them to task after the completion of this sentence. Indeed, we come to praise: perhaps even more enjoyable than the main story was the accompanying sidebar, which in Book of Ages style, looks at what several famous Milwaukeeites were doing when they were 30:
Bud Selig, 69, was only a baseball spectator. Selig was working in the automobile business with his father at Knippel-Selig Ford.

Former Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Howard Fuller, 62, was president of Malcolm X Liberation University in Durham and Greensboro, N.C.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin, 41, was a practicing attorney, served on the Dane County Board and was elected to the U.S. Congress.

At age 30, Buddy the Elf left his frozen home and headed to New York City, where he hoped to meet his real father, a Scrooge-like publisher of children's books.
Ok, we added that last one in honor of a certain motion picture opening today. [Insert obligatory Milwaukee/North Pole joke here.]
