December 09, 2003They Can't Stay In My ApartmentFor some, the takeaway from the U.N. recent report, "World Population 2300," is that population growth is slowing. While that does appear to be true -- after quadrupling in the last 100 years, the population won't even double in the next 300 -- the fact remains that there will be 9 billion people in the world by 2300. And, if every woman has .35 more children than the report estimates, well, then there will be 36.4 billion people. I love people, but that sounds like a problem.Meanwhile, the report suggests that we would be wise to schedule BOA 60 for a holiday season release c. 2300: The average age of the world's population will continue to rise as life expectancy stretches, boosting the median age from 26 to nearly 50 in 2300, the report predicted. The percentage of people over age 60 will rise from 10 percent of the world's population to 38 percent.U.N.
