Life Is A Parade

In the planning stages of BOA 30, there was a lot of enthusiasm about 30-year-old objects, events, and other 30 miscellany. At one point, we were very high on a picture of a 30-year-old bonzai, and there was some discussion about how we could devote a page the 30th anniversary of the ATM. Gradually, we came to accept the idea that these weren't very winning ideas. Objects and humans age differently and we're proud to have learned this. (Yes, the 30-year-old ox and 30 Years War items stayed in, but these are obviously relevant.).

In any case, we're making an exception today to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Village Halloween Parade in NYC. Like your neighborhood 30-year-old, the parade is a little worn out, but still willing to dress up like soup and party.
