Buying Your First House at 40

The New York Post puts a spring in the step of every 40something without a roof over their head with an article about first-time home buyers over 40 years old. Says one buyer with a rather peculiar last name,
"I fell into a perfect scenario for a first-time buyer," Oblonsky says. "This is the perfect time in my life; I'm 40, I want to own property."
According to The Big 40!, 71% of people in their early 40s own a home (p. 33). However, that percentage may be lower in New York City, where owning a home tends to be dependent on one's willingness to knock off aging family members first.
