Author Photo, No Makeup Necessary

Of course, one of the first things we wondered when we signed our contract for Book of Ages was, When do we sit for our author photo? Well, imagine our consternation when Crown told us that we would have to pay for this ourselves. Many, many hours of angst-ridden conversation ensued, but, in the end, fiscal austerity trumped vanity and our smiling mugs are nowhere to be found in BOA 30. Thankfully, JVG can draw. Today, Lock and I make our first appearance in JVG: The Comic Strip. So, if any of you booksellers have been wondering why legions of teenage girls suddenly burst through your doors asking about a book about being 30, there's your answer.
