The Times Styles section gives the big birthday treatment to 50 this week. Campbell Robertson reports that Jonathan Sheffer, a musical director, invited 250 people to his 50th bash at a Soho gallery, where "a platoon of well-toned men in tight black shirts emblazoned with '5onathon,' the party's official logo, served hors d'oeuvres." Despite 50 cakes worth of fun -- plus Hillary Clinton! -- nobody could think of anything witty to say about turning 50.
